Sampling Steps

Samling Steps is the number of times your chosen algorithm goes over your seed. Each subsequent step increases the detail and quality but also increases the render time. Although varying between different samplers, usually a good minimum is 25. Most samplers can produce great results at 50 steps. But much like the samplers, the best way to find out about your image is by trial and error. An important note is that higher is not necessarily better!
Generating images with really high sampling steps such as 125- 150 will not only drastically increase the render time but also might overemphasize certain aspects of your image.
